Our Story

IPS South was built on a simple idea: distribution should be more than just moving product. It should move businesses forward.

With over 19 years of hands-on experience in pet retail, our foundation was built by owning and operating our own stores. We opened Pet’s Choice in 1989 in San Jose, CA, followed by a second location in Anaheim Hills, CA in 1996, which we successfully ran until 2003.

That firsthand experience continues to shape everything we do today. We understand the day-to-day realities of independent pet retailers. The wins, the challenges, and the constant pressure to stay competitive in an evolving market.

Having been in those exact shoes, we approach every partnership with genuine empathy, practical insight, and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed at the store level.
